Over the years, Israel has established international level universities and research institutes, which constitutes today a distributed and diversified platform for technology innovation.
This platform of innovation is part of a broader scene of defense R&D centers, technology incubators, mature high-tech companies and entrepreneurship and global corporation research centers, creating what the world knows today as the most important technology hub outside of the USA.
Israel’s technology leadership wouldn’t be fully exploited without the correct approach and strategy for innovation at all levels.
Israel invests in education as a percent of GDP more than any country in the world and as a result we have the highest number per population of scientists and engineers in the world.
We are number one in the world in US patent applications per capital and a world leader in R&D expenditure as a percent of GDP including the massive support of R&D through .

The result is that we have close to 3,000 technology companies and 200 new start-ups are created every year.
Our high-tech industry, including pharmaceuticals and biotech grew to $20B revenues, of which export constitutes 85% .
