It is a pleasure for me to welcome you to the “Israel Innovation Summit”.
As the process of making changes to something established by introducing something new.
The term Innovation refers to both radical and incremental changes to products, processes or services.
Innovation may not only lead to increased turnover or profits but can also lead to growth in efficiency, productivity, quantity, etc.
All recognized must innovates: not innovate effectively will be left behind.
Israel is a source of great innovation and has established itself as one of the most important centers of high-tech, business entrepreneurship and advanced technological R&D.
With more than 2,600 high-tech companies and 1,450 start-ups active in Israel and more than 80 ventures capital funds managing about $US4 billion dedicated to innovative technology investments, I believe that innovation is the growth engine of the Israeli economy.
In the era of globalization, the role of the Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) is to assist in the development of new technologies as a mean of fostering the Israeli economy, encourage technological entrepreneurship, leverage Israel’s science resources, support high added value R&D, enhance the knowledge base of Israeli high-tech industries and promote cooperative R&D both nationally and internationally.
The policy of the OCS is to invest extensive resources in advancing and supporting the dynamic needs of Israeli high-tech industry.
As a result of this commitment, several noteworthy achievements were reached over the last year.
