Who is ? まで行かないと得られないウェブサイトの運営情報を、Who is へ行かずに獲得してしまい、検証までやってしまおうというのが CallingID だ。検証済みの安全なサイトであれば緑、今まで問題が発見されたサイトであれば黄、フィッシング詐欺など危険なサイトの場合であれば赤といった具合に、サイトの安全度を表示してくれる。検証システムは ASP で、検証データをユーザからの情報をうまくフィードバックし、絶えず包括的な検証を行うようになっているようだ。

HP より専用の CallingID tool bar をダウンロードすることができる。Tool bar より各サイトのレポートも安全なサイトであれば、以下のように表示される。

「正直どこまで信用できるのか？」というのがあるので、しばらく使ってみて精度を確かめてみることにする。「Who is?」への情報も、「 Report > see site reports 」を使い、すぐに確認できる。書き込みにはログインが必要となる。

さらに、CallingID Strong Authentication Platform というものであれば、Trojan ( トロイの木馬 ) に感染したとしても、他のユーザはパスワードを見つけることができなくなり、DNS spoofing に対しても有効となるようだ。

DNS spoofing とは Web サーバの IP アドレスが登録されている DNS サーバの IP アドレスを、偽の IP アドレスへ変更してしまい、あたかも表向きにはそのサイトのように振舞い、サイトの訪問者を騙すこと。
