Crohn's Disease (CD) and Multiple Sclerosis (MS) are autoimmune diseases in which the immune system attacks the organs it is supposed to protect, attacking in CD the bowel and in MS the central nerve system (CNS). These diseases have complex pathology and do not have a constant appearance among patients. In CD the disease varies according to locations, behaviours, seventies and activities and in MS by its different progression rate and accumulation of disabilities. There is an unmet need to predict their progression in order to take better treatment decisions.

CD and MS are multifactorial diseases requiring a combination of biomarkere for efficient diagnosis and prognosis. Glycominds glycan array technology - the GlycoChip, was employed to screen glycan antigens associated with innate immunity microbial sugar epitopes. We have discover a panel of sugar-based biomarkers for each indication. Recently, the predictormlues of IBDX , a blood test based on four biomarkers for Inflammatory bowel disease and CD, and gMS , the first blood test for MS were validated in blinded retrospective-prospective studies.

The IBDX results illustrate that high levels of serological markers predict severe and complcated Crohn's disease and a high risk for bowel surgery. The gMS・results showed astonishingly, the ability to predict, already at the first neurological event, if the patient will progress to Relapsing Remitting MS, and the risk for higher disease progression rate. Glycominds has commercialized the IBDX・and the gMS providing physicians, unmatched, reliable, personalized medicine tools based on simple blood tests for better treatment decisions.

An Innovative Approach For Through - Wall - imaging
Amir Beeri
Camero

*****************

An innovative approach is introduced herein for three-dimensional (3D) imaging of objects or people hidden behind obstacles such as walls. New micro-power Ultra Wideband (UWB) radar utilizes unique signal processing and image processing algorithms, enabling real time acquisition and presentation of 3D images with good resolution of objects hidden behind walls. The ability to 'see' through walls can significantly increase the operational effectiveness of many of the organizations that make our society a safer place.

These include Fire & Rescue, Special Forces, Police, Military and covert Intelligence Services. Camero's 'Ⅹ3ver 800' solution offers users the ability to find people, observe room layouts and understand scenarios that until now were hidden from them. 'Xaver 800' offers the capability to perform life-saving operations with greater success and with a smaller risk to the operatives and those they are trying to protect.

For a SWAT team planning a hostage rescue or soldiers engaging the enemy in urban combat, the ability to 'know' what is happening on the other side of a wall can literally be the difference between the life and death of those involved. There are a number of existing approaches to providing users with the ability to 'sense' people behind walls. Most approaches provide 2D low resolution 'motion detection' capabilities.

However, user requirements are such that a new approach is needed in order to provide sufficient resolution for the user to be able to determine what they are seeing from a stand off at a safe distance. The user requirements described so far impose many technical challenges including issues such as: link budget, clutter, extensive real-time image reconstruction, limited angular view and many more.
